UNESA ENGLISH LANGUAGE EDUCATION PROGRAM LECTURER GUIDED SURABAYA HIGH SCHOOL ENGLISH TEACHERS IN WRITING SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES
Writing Scientific articles are a crucial step for teachers in improving their level their careers, such as functional promotions or promotions. Realize how important this skill is, one of the Community Service groups from the UNESA English Language Education Undergraduate Study Program, has initiated a scientific article writing assistance program. This program is aimed at for state junior high school English teachers in Surabaya.
This event is held in offline and online formats, involving teachers who already have a draft scientific work, either in form research reports and scientific articles. Activities will be held starting July 8 2024 in the Lidah Wetan English Department Seminar Room, attended by the Coordinator English Language Education Study Program and City Middle School English Language MGMP Supervisor Surabaya, Sudarto, S.Pd., M.M. In his speech, Sudarto motivated the participants to perfect their work until it is ready to be published and uploaded to relevant platforms, which will later contribute to the calculation of the figures credit for functional promotion.
Guide team consisting of Drs. Fahri, MA., Prof. Dr. Lies Amin Lestari, Dr. Ririn Pusparini, M.Pd., Dr. Wiwiet Eva Savitri, M.Pd., Zainul Aminin, S.Pd., M.Pd., Esti Kurniasih, S.Pd., M.Pd., and Lisetyo Ariyanti, S.S., M.Pd., started the session with an in-depth analysis of the draft previously submitted scientific papers. They explain techniques writing scientific articles and frequent Classroom Action Research (PTK) processes used as writing material.
Participants are then divided into small groups that consisting of two people, each accompanied by a lecturer facilitator. In this session, each teacher revised the draft of their scientific work, with results final presentation at the end of the event. Although revise for a day provide significant progress, participants are expected to continue improving articles independently at home and consult online with companion according to agreement. Mentoring is expected to really help teachers produce scientific articles worthy of publication in Sinta (national) accredited scientific journals, supporting the improvement of the quality of publications and careers of students teacher.
